The Importance of
Families Part 2
By Robin Nobles
(Continued from Part #1)
Think of the little things your parents
did for you, like the rose my Dad gave me for my 16th birthday, the rose that is
still between the pages of my white Bible. Or the quilt my mother made me for my
first wedding anniversary out of left over material from dresses she’d made for
me when I was a little girl.
I know you remember those special “little”
things, and how much they mean to you.
What about your brothers or sisters? I
have a brother that I couldn’t be more proud of. He’s a true winner a winner
that few people in this world will ever have the courage to be.
Please take the time to tell your family
how much they mean to you. When the going gets tough, your family will always be
there for you, even when no one else is. Your family’s love is unconditional.
They’ll forgive you for your mistakes, because they love you for who you really
are.
Sometimes it helps all of us to remember
the story in the Bible about the Prodigal son who left home against his father’s
wishes, came back poor and destitute, but his father welcomed him home with open
arms. That’s what a family is for.

Take in a movie. Go to a bookstore. Go to the zoo. Do anything, but just be
together.
